Sad little cat

We fostered a litter of kittens and the mum who were stray. We kept 2 of the kittens and rehomed the others. They are lovely and part of the family, 2 weeks ago one of them disappeared, totally out of character, we’ve looked high and low she is micro chipped but no sign. We are all very sad. They are 20 months old. The one left behind is really sad, she spends the night calling her litter mate and sits outside all day refusing to come in. Is there anything we can do to help? Does she need another cat or will they not get on?

Hey OP, that’s really sad, I really hope the little one comes back, have you done all the usual stuff to find the cat?

I think you could get a new cat eventually but I’d definitely wait a while yet, cats can still come back after two weeks. She could be trapped in someone’s shed or garage after the nice weather.

Yes we’ve called vets, knocked on doors, put up adverts etc I’m just not very hopeful she will just come back, previously she only went in our three gardens on our block, everyone has checked sheds nearby but she might have gone further away. I do still hope to see her just stroll in one day!
