Albus is off to the vets tomorrow for his heart murmur check up. Hopefully all okay. Here he is, snoozing as always.

It would be lovely to see some pics of your wonderful cats to keep my spirits high (and just cause they're cute)

Fingers crossed. Hope he stays still for the scan. My girls have had loads of heart scans. Their cardiologist is fantastic. Sarah Smith, in Derby.

The black one is Magic, her sister had severe heart disease. Cheddar is the red one.

Toilenstripes · 07/06/2020 19:24

I hope all goes well at the vet tomorrow. Hopefully just a minor murmur. Here’s Vesper, a.k.a. Midnight rave queen

@Toddlerteaplease absolutely beautiful cats! How are yours with their murmurs? I don't want to think it's life limiting, lots of people and animals live with murmurs surely?

Maia had very severe HCM. She did really well on treatment, and lived for 9 months after diagnosis, her kidneys failed in the end. You'd have never known she was so poorly. She never had symptoms. Her identical sister doesn't have a murmur and was only screened as HCM can be hereditary. She had mild thickening of her septum. Which I think is more likely to be age related. As I think she's older than I was told. I hope you have good insurance. It's incredibly expensive!

Bicnod · 07/06/2020 19:46

This is our 11 week old kitten who seems to be fairly relaxed in her new home Grin

Our boy Tango - also a heart murmur cat! 12 years young, lover of sunny nap spots. Best of luck for the check up.

All beautiful cats 💕 Unfortunately I don't have insurance! It was on my 'to do' list when I got him and it wasn't an urgent for me as he was a house cat and I thought nothing would happen. That was silly of me, eh?! He's had no scans as of yet apart from one X-ray, however if he needs one I will gladly (and have to) pay out

@Windyatthebeach I'm so sorry; they are beautiful

Each visit to the cardiologist is £600-700. I think Maia's medication was about £50
A month.

Vinorosso74 · 07/06/2020 22:44

Gorgeous cats as ever! @Windyatthebeach sorry you lost one of yours so young.
Here's ours and his mate; ours is the white and black one.

No changes in Albus' heart, hurrah! Just a little fast but they said probably nerves as we weren't even allowed in the building, we had to wait outside whilst they took him away. He has however put on weight so he's now on a diet 😬

Maximus is glad to hear about Albus' news, and also thinks they look similar. Extra padding included!

Thanks everyone we are pleased! He has celebrated this afternoon by snoozing and helping me (biting the box) of my DP's birthday present I was wrapping.

@Jayneisagirlsname he is beautiful! And very similar looking. Albus sleeps like that too and it's so hard not to smush his belly!

@YesItsMeIDontCare Albus loves a nose boop, definitely the highest level of affection 😃

Obelix the Tank, who looks like a pit bull terrier and is a street cat with massive attitude. (And a lack of giblets. When he was on the street he was hit by a car and lost his tail and ruptured his diaphragm.)

Tabitha Cat hates him, as you can see by her expression.

And her brother Whiskers the tuxie.
