Cupnoard Love

My carer visits on Saturdays. My cat loves him, likes to sit on him just adores him.

Yesaterday he was here and did something he often does, went to the chip shop for us both. Madam went and sat on the window sill and watched him walk up the street, stayed there, watched him return and then ran to him when he came in.

I thought it was adorable, until I realised it wasn't him she was looking for, it was the sausage (him) and fish (me) that she normally gets a little bit of.

My dad refers to this as 'cupboard love' the animal doesn't really love you, they love your ability to open the cupboard and fetch food for them.

I can spell cupboard, really I can.

No reason why it can't be a bit of both; loves him anyway but sausage & fish just makes it even more special. Grin

You can’t beat battered fish though!.

I used to get dh to feed Asbo his chew sticks, as soon as he realised it was all gone he’d turn tail and walk away.

I don't think it's just cupboard love, but it's definitely very conditional love 😁.

Leroy loves his walks and now that DS sometimes takes him he's giving DS a lot more affection. He still loves me the bestest though 🥰.

I currently have lamb in the slow cooker, she appears whenever I go near the kitchen.

I can't go into the kitchen without Cheddar sitting on the side in the hall yowling loudly. Or at the slightest possibility of a plastic packet being treats, I get them both giving me big eyes and yowling. Even Snorg has learned how to yowl for treats!
