He had his dental and a thorough once over at the vet yesterday and has pretty much got a clean bill of health!
Harry’s remaining teeth are fine, his jaw is OK (the jaw the previous vet said was crumbling and may need to be amputated) and one of the two kidney readings was high but OK for a cat of his age and the other one was good. The vet felt his kidneys and apparently they are in good condition. Apparently he’s in good condition and a good weight for a cat of his age. (Sorry for the over use of ‘good’ there!)
The only issue is he has a condition that older cats can get where the nerves and muscles in his jaw can shrink and the cat has problems chewing. There’s nothing that can be done and it doesn’t usually cause an issue as they just have to eat soft food only. We’ve got to keep giving him some dry food as it exercises his jaw. He was starving when he got home so there’s definitely nothing wrong with his chewing at the moment!
He's a bit quiet today but I think he’s been up half the night so I’m not surprised! It makes a change to get such positive news from the vet.
We've now just got to keep our fingers crossed that Petplan pay!
