My 2 year old house cat has a small bald bath on his forehead it's only happened this week. I've just managed to get a proper look and it seems there's something there. What could it be?

I will ring the vets when they open tomorrow

I used a flash to get the photo, it's not that obvious when you look at him normally.

How did it start off? No chance it’s ringworm? Flea treated recently? No sign of any cat bite etc there?

I jus noticed the balding this week, he's indoor so no fighting. Been flea treated and wormed.

It’s an odd place. Scratching it? What do you flea treat with?

hartof · 17/05/2020 15:00

I've just googled ringworm and it does look like it

Could it be ringworm or scabies? I’m not sure if animals get that right enough! Defo some kind of treatment from the vet required. Prob after a skin scraping to identify what parasite it is.

Had something very similar on Lenny recently. Flea treated him and the fur has now grown back.

I did wonder if it might be ringworm with Lenny but he didn't seem to have a rash there so we assumed flea issues first.

Stronghold flea treatment. I will admit to losing track of when he is due it so may go slightly over the month sometimes. I've just given him a dose today.
