Feline Injection Site Sarcoma

Does anyone have experience with this?
I have an old Dcat with a suspected diagnosis

DCat is 18yo or so. Seems treatment is to cut it out and it sounds brutal and probably not something ideal for such an old feline.

I understand it's pretty fast and invasive but I am wondering how it progresses / prognosis if left.

Sorry your cat has this. I have no experience but I would think it is better to operate or it will spread. I know it's always a risk with an old cat to have anesthetic but I think it might be the best option. What does your vet say?

My old boy (Monty) had a lump removed from his neck injection site aged about 16.

He was still fit and enjoyed life so we went ahead. He made a quick recovery and he lived another 4 years.

We stopped having annual injections for him - our vet was happy with this.

We had also decided that if it wasn't successful or if it came back we wouldn't put him through another op - pleased that it didn't come to this.

Thanks for your responses. Maybe the surgery would be worth considering if needed.

I appreciate the story of monty. 😊 🐈
Thanks
