Kittens jabs

Hi,
My kitten had his first set of jabs yesterday, he’s 12 weeks old and he’s had them late as he’s a rescue kitten who was found abandoned. He was fine yesterday but today he’s not ate anything and slept all day. I know kittens sleep a lot but do the jabs make them feel a bit off like they do with babies? He’s such a skinny little thing don’t want him to get any thinner!
Thanks

Yes that’s normal, my skinny (also adopted) kitten was fine after a couple of days
Here’s some info.

“Common vaccine side effects
There are some common vaccine side effects that often only last a few days and disappear without treatment:

Low energy (lethargy)
Eating less
Sleeping more
Fever (high temperature)
Mild swelling around the vaccine site that disappears in two - six weeks”

Ahh thank you, hopefully he will start to feel a bit more normal tomorrow then. He’s had a few dodgy poo’s too in his litter tray so I guess he doesn’t feel like eating. Need to fatten him up!

Poor thing, he should be fine tomorrow, ring them if he’s not.

Some cats go crazy for chicken livers poached and chopped up. Small portions though because of the vitamin a levels.

Mine had hers late (at 4 months) because of lockdown and also slept loads afterwards... she was fine after a couple of days. guess it takes it out of them!

I'm glad that somebody's asked about this as my 8mth old DC has just had her first jabs, late due to lockdown etc & shes been less energetic than usual, sleeping more & been very picky with food, eating more dry than usual & turning her nose up at her usual Felix pouches. Will keep an eye on her & hope that shes back to normal soon.
