My cat got neutered yesterday and ever since we bought her home my older cat has completely rejected her, won't stop hissing and growling at her, they've got on we'll previous to this! They are both females and my older cat is neutered. can someone help!

Your cat just smells of the vet and the older cat doesn't recognise her at the moment. They'll settle down again. If you have a blanket the cats sleep on, maybe rub it gently over the cat who's been at the vets to transfer a familiar scent back onto her.

It's the smell!

Give it a few more days.

Thank you! I feel bad for my kitten because she's been through enough yesterday and now she's come home and my older cat has a bitchy attitude 😂

Can you keep them apart overnight?. Wash anything that was in the carrier too.

They seem to be giving each other a wide birth, I've moved the kittens food upstairs just because my older cat was guarding the food area, I've left the cat carrier in my bedroom as the kitten was snoozing in there, should I move this? big cat stays away from this though as soon as she sees it she runs a mile, think she has ptsd from her visit😂

Mine do that when they go to the vets , it will take a few days before they get over it . They just smell different .. it's very upsetting to watch though 😔

Mine was the same and made worse by the fact cat2 had a surgical suit on. Just told her to leave her alone if she started on her and she continued to sulk

Same here. A bonded pair and the boy went mad when girl came home from the vets. We had to keep a close eye on him but he was over it in a day or two and they were pals again.
