Hi,
This week I became a midwife to a feral Queen. She’s definitely a stray and has been circling our garden for at least 4-5 years. Excellent ratter.
My priority is to get her spayed. Having phoned my own vet, I was told no neutering until at least the next government and veterinary college review due to need to conserve oxygen stocks. (May7th)I was pointed towards the cats protection league.
The CPL said things are rapidly changing and to just try all the vets in my area.
So, for anyone else needing a neutering service, I can say this worked for me. The third vets agreed this was an animal welfare case and they have agreed to spay in three weeks time.
Fingers crossed I can keep her in for three weeks! (I’m keeping the kittens and would happily have mum too if she wants to stay)
Anyone else in the same situation - keep ringing and explaining, you too may either get lucky or the rules may change/be relaxed.
