Cat collars that actual come back with the cat?

Share with me the answer!!! He’s microchipped but I desperately need a collar to indicate he’s not a stray and shouldn’t be fed!

I’ve tried at least 10 different options in the last 4yrs and all lost due to the quick release function. Even tried a stapled paper collar.

I stopped bothering, they can injure themselves trying to get them off & they can still strangle themselves.

I had same issue . I bought a small dog collar in the end from pets at home The clip is stronger, been on for a couple of years now no problem.

Oh Thunderandsunshine, collar or no collar, he looks so lovely, no wonder he can scrounge food out of your neighbours. I wouldn’t feed somebody else’s cat because I would worry they had an allergy or something. (ok I am guilty of giving a bit of barbecued fresh salmon to a cat that visits the garden but won’t be stroked but it was only once m’lud and was quite a small piece.) Like Fluffycloudland77, I have also heard that collars are bad for outdoor cats because of the risk of them getting caught on something.

Maybe letter box your neighbours with a picture of the naughty boy and a plea not to feed him?

@elaeocarpus Well you're extremely lucky that your cat is still alive. Even quick release collars can cause injury. A collar that won't come off can cause death. Your cat can get hung by its collar, or stuck somewhere. For christ's sake take that thing of now. Yes you've been lucky so far, but that luck can easily run out. If you must use one (and it's generally better to just not bother) then it has to be a quick release one for cats.

I think it's the individual car rather than the collar. My parents cat frequently gets their boys collar posted through the letterbox. My cats have never taken theirs off.
