Sadness when rehoming goes wrong

First off: not me doing the rehoming, but my landlady. She adopted a beautiful black cat from a rescue centre last week, who made himself at home very quickly and who is just delightful, a total cuddle puss. He and I have bonded really quickly and he’s spent much of his time wedged up against me on the sofa, snoring.

Sadly, my landlady has turned out to be allergic to him, despite having had cats and dogs in the past, so he is having to go back to the rescue tomorrow. I would have loved to take him on myself but circumstances don’t allow it. And I am really, really upset to see him go. It’s amazing how these little furry critters get under your skin so quickly.

Whoever gives him his real forever home is very lucky indeed. Just wish it could have been me. Sad

That’s awful, you must be so upset. She wasn’t to know though.

That's a shame. But she really should try Petal Cleanse wipes first. They might just solve the problem.

Cant she use a anti histamine? I was like that with mine for the first two weeks but i ploughed on with the help of tablets and it was fine in the end.

I had a big sob about it last night! He went back to the rescue this morning after spending several hours snoozing with me. Gutted to see him go but I doubt it'll take long for him to find a new home - even before lockdown the cats were being reserved faster than she could apply for them.

I hadn't heard of Petal Cleanse so will suggest those. It's more than just allergies - she has asthma too and it seemed to be triggering that more than usual.

Here's a pic of him. Such a pudding.

He was a handsome boy. One day you’ll have a cat of your own to spoil.

I will, and I can’t wait!
