Drinking fountain for cats

My girl is always trying to drink from running taps so thought she might like one of those water fountains. Does anyone use one and would you recommend a particular brand?

Thanks.

Got one for my cats I had to clean it every 24-48 hours else they refused to use it 🙄 just let them use the tap instead...

Don’t buy the cat mate one, mine lost interest after 5 minutes and it was a faff to keep clean even with a dishwasher.

Mine loves his Cat Mate one! But only if it's a bit manky 🤦🏼‍♀️.

OhMy05 · 09/04/2020 21:36

I’ve used the cat mate one for years with no problems (at least 8 years), or rather my cat has. You do have to clean it periodically of course to prevent limescale. Also need the filters, these are very cheap on amazon.

RandomMess · 09/04/2020 21:43

@YesItsMeIDontCare lucky you!!! Honestly mine insist water is fresh and I've noticed any water bowl gets a slight film on it after 24 hours and that is what they object to.

It's a standing joke that girl cat steals out of our glasses water. Boy cat will only accept running tap.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/04/2020 21:57

Ours preferred filtered water from our water jug.

We have the PETKIT Eversweet fountain for our 3 cats and they all love it. I bought a cat ate one a few years ago and they wouldn't touch it. I have it away after a few months when it became clear that they never breach the the 2 metre exclusion zone they had put around it. But the PETKIT one they love!

Ours have loved CatMate, and it’s still going strong after 12 years. New filter every month, and it holds a huge amount, so water’s always available. I wash it out every 2/3 days, takes a couple of minutes and a bottle brush.

Wow, didn't expect so many replies. Thanks
everyone!

Yes, my cat loves CatMate too - she wouldn’t drink before I bought her a water fountain!

TroysMammy · 10/04/2020 07:23

Mine has a cat mate but I don't use the fountain feature. However Haribo loves to dip his paw in it and give it a good swish around. I've put it on a tray because his swishes are very enthusiastic.

Ernie has the Catit one and loves it
