Need some advice on a stray cat we sometimes feed. He came to our door the other day with his eye closed a little, probably down to being in a fight. We noticed today that it has got worse, and is almost closed and very weepy. I tried putting on some gloves and protection (sometimes he attacks me and it's a little scary) to see if i could bathe it but he wouldn't let me anywhere near it.

I know the vets are only taking on emergency cases but does anyone have any advice on what i should do or anything i can do to help him? I don't want to leave him like this Sad

He’ll probably have a longer sleep than normal if he feels safe.

You are so good at this.

Amy photos?

So this is the make shift cat house we made out of an old cabinet! It's at the front of our house beside the bins. I'm just so happy that he's cosy here near our house 😻

He’s already got half a paw under the table hasn’t he?.

Aww the wee soul 😻

Toilenstripes · 27/04/2020 17:38

Aw what a lovely boy. He’s already showing a lot of trust. Best wishes OP!

Yeah, tbf OP that does actually look really comfy and cosy. I don't blame him for not wanting to leap out.

It's going to rain overnight here apparently. Can you waterproof it for him in any way?

EL8888 · 27/04/2020 17:56

That’s too cute!!!!

Oldestchild90s · 27/04/2020 18:08

@YesItsMeIDontCare the roof has felt on it and it does actually hang over the bit where he lays so if he goes in it tonight and it does rain he should be lovely and dry! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thanks everyone, he really is a lovely boy and i will take good care of him!

Have you had him scanned for a chip? just in case he’s lost far from home. I’ve scanned cats 50+ miles from home after jumping in vans.
If you look on local lost/found FB groups you’ll find a scanner who’ll pop out.
Just before he fully moves in 😺
