Meet Mabel

This Mabel, our pregnant foster cat. We’re not entirely sure when she’s due, but she’s doing A LOT of sleeping and we can see the babies moving around.

She's beautiful and so are her kittens. I'm going to bookmark this thread at the post with the photos so I can look at them easily

About 50 years ago I had a pregnant cat, and one day when I got home from picking up my oldest from school, my neighbour greeted me with, "I think Sooty is in labour." I put her in the cupboard under the stairs, where I had put newspapers for her to give birth on, and told my younger son to stay with her. Every so often he emerged to announce, "She's had a kitten." 4 in all. He later became a doctor, and I often wonder if that gave him the idea to pursue that career.

I love the way she’s snuggling them.

Mabel looks a very proud mum cuddling her kittens. Hope all's going well with them.

Mabel and her kittens are lovely. It’s so nice that she has a foster home with you - awful to think she might have been trying to manage on her own. (At least I am assuming she was a stray because she is your foster cat). I guess they are with you until the rescues can open again. You and Mabel will be busy!

Your update for today.

We are fostering them on behalf of a rescue, they will likely stay until they are ready for new homes. I think we’ll be keeping one as long as our current furry boys are in agreement.

Mabel is hopefully being homed by a close friend once the kittens are ready to go.

Everybody is happy and healthy so far 🥰
