Cat struggling to move

My cat is barely moving and very slowly when she does. She’s been off food for couple of days and watery sick when picked up. Won’t touch any food or liquid. Not sure whether this would be emergency enough to see vet today. In ordinary times would call vet but not sure because of cv. Can anyone advise?

Can you check her teeth and gums?
One of my cats did this she had a dental abscess
But I would consult a vet yes

slipperywhensparticus · 29/03/2020 08:01

Most vets are running a phone service I would call asap

BovaryX · 29/03/2020 08:04

Definitely contact the vet. If she is refusing to eat or drink and being sick, that suggests she needs medical attention. Good luck with the vet.

Yes this sounds like she may need to be seen, especially if cat is elderly. At our practice owners are offered a telephone consult to decide if the animal needs to be seen. Video footage of the pet moving around can be helpful. Photo of the vomit plus number of times she has vomited and how much she has been eating as a %of normal could be useful too. Good luck in getting her sorted.

Absolutely his is an emergency. Please phone the vet.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/03/2020 10:30

Absolutely ring the vet.

Inforthelonghaul · 29/03/2020 11:14

Please call your vet. I spoke to ours this week and they confirmed they are there for this very reason.

clayspaniel · 29/03/2020 11:32

Thank you everyone. The vet saw her this morning. She’s now on a drip and meds until at least Tuesday. It’s liver problems and they are seeing if she will respond to treatment.

Oh your poor girl. I hope she gets better quickly.

Itwasntme1 · 29/03/2020 12:14

How dreadful for you both. I know how stressful this is - and the current situation can only make it tougher.

Really hope she responds to the treatment. Take care x

Ruby8719 · 29/03/2020 20:05

Glad you saw the vet - for future reference cats bodies are much smaller than ours if they stop eating for that length of time it is an emergency and especially if barely moving. Delaying treatment can be life threatening.

Really hope your cat pulls through!
