My cat keeps sneezing

I have recently adopted an FIV cat, he is totally gorgeous and very cheeky.

He has been sneezing a lot the past 2 days and sounds snuffly when he is breathing. Otherwise totally fine, pestering me for food every 10 seconds and being his usual cuddly self.

Is this something I should bother the vet with or wait out?

Ring the vet and see what they say - mine are usually pretty good at advice over the phone but have been exceptional in recent weeks (I had an actual emergency this morning and was so reassured by their handling of it. And DFluffyCat is fine!)

Glad your boy is ok in himself but always worth the phone call I think :)

Cat might have dust allergy.

BovaryX · 29/03/2020 08:55

Has he had cat flu vaccine? It's probably something very minor, but I would check if he has had that vaccine.

Toddlerteaplease · 29/03/2020 09:21

Both of mine are sneezers. Cheddars speciality is in my face! I think one of them had hay fever. 1/4 table of human potato sorts her out.

BillThePony · 29/03/2020 11:28

He has definitely been vaccinated for cat flu.

He hasn't sneezed so far this morning but will give the vet a call anyway. He is still begging for extra food and playing.

Toddler I’m not sure I could get my cat to eat a 1/4 table of human potato.

Our male brings in feathers to chase and sneezes (we always know that he's got one of his prized toys)

I check their eyes and nostrils - all clear . Vaccines up to date .

He must just be feather-sensitive Shock

Pony can you email his previous fosterers ? Check if he was a sneezer previously ?

Our cats like going into places and coming out covered in dust.............

@chemonger. I meant Piriton. I have no doubt that Cheddar would demolish a potato. Snorg wouldn't touch it!

Chemenger · 29/03/2020 15:23

Piriton! I could not think what that autocorrect could be.

BillThePony · 29/03/2020 18:36

He would definitely eat a potato, he is a greedy boy.

I have left a message with the rescue I got him from so hopefully they will let me know soon

I worry more because of the FIV but is presenting as well otherwise.
