Fleas & nervous cat

Pretty certain my lovely pair have got fleas ☹️

I've got one who is very friendly and sociable, so spot-on treatments won't be an issue with him and I've got some ready for when he shows himself later - but I've got another who chooses to be in an indoor cat, is very nervous and won't let anyone touch her. She's a rescue from Celia Hammond.

We've progressed to the point where she will sit within a metre or so of people, but gets jumpy if they move and will run to hide.

Its been a long time since I've owned cats - what treatment might work for her, as spot-on will be a non-starter but is the go to for all other cats I've had/known.
Also, how do you treat your house - there seem to be a lot of different approaches online!

Indorex will treat the house, obviously don’t leave the cats in a room while your treating it.

Can you warm the spot on in your bra then pop it on while she’s in a deep sleep?.

Oh she would never be so foolish as to fall into a deep sleep in easy reach of humans - that is reserved solely for being underneath a double bed 😹

Managed to bribe her with dreamies to sit at arms length on the sofa with me and did manage to squirt it on to her neck/back, but couldn't manage any of the hair parting/directly on the skin stuff the instructions talk about so am not hopeful about how much of an impact it will have! And there's little chance of being able to repeat it tomorrow as she'll be deeply suspicious now 🤦🏻‍♀️

She is now sulking about being outsmarted under the chair.

Two of my four are like this, too. I usually end up having to "trap" them into a small room so I can capture them.

You can also buy some in tablet form, although personally I've not done that as I've read there may be some side effects. There is a tablet called Capstar available over the counter that will kill any fleas currently on the cat for about 24-48 hours, but doesn't offer longlasting protection. I've used it on nervous foster cats and it's safe.

Indorex for the house is great, and offers protection for several months so at least you don't end up with a big infestation at home.

Is there a jab for fleas or have I imagined it?
There’s seresto collar for dogs. Is there a similar product you can get from a vet for cats?

There is a prescription collar and an injection but it only stops them breeding, it won’t kill them.
