Trying to get a vets appointment

I just had a phone call from my vet saying they can't see any more pets unless it's an emergency.
Prior to this if you had an appointment you waited in your car with your animal then handed the animal over and went back to wait in the car to avoid foorfall in the clinic.
Now we aren't allowed to go at all.
My cat had radioactive iodine therapy 3 months ago to save her life as she was severly hyperthytoid and near to death. It cured her and she is lovely and fluffy now and has put on so much weight.
It can throw them the other way into hypothyroidism but that's not so serious and she's just need a pill a day.
I can't get a blood test though.
I'm going to ring the original vet hospital for advice.
Anyone elses vet on a shut down?

I guess it depends if staff are ill/having to self isolate. There may be less locums as moving around practices may not be wise right now.
We had a text saying ours are open for emergency and essential care so would think bloods are classed as essential. They are owned by Medivet so if one is shut we can go to another.

Sounds like she is doing very well so the bloods can wait. Contact the referral centre for advice but I'm sure they would say the same. Don't panic, she'll be fine and by delaying the check up you'll be helping ensure there is a vet to see her in the event she really needs it.

My vet is doing the same thing as yours. You have to wait in the car park. Although they have gone to emergency only, they might still do blood tests that are essential.
