I see Battersea are running their lovely TV ad. I really hope that animal rescue centres will still have adopters during this difficult time. There are so many abandoned pets needing loving homes 🐶❤🐱 🤞

Got to love Battersea. All four of ours are Battersea moggies and the team there did a fantastic job of socialising them.
Can't recommend them strongly enough.

Sadly adoptions will slow if people are staying at home and timing isn't great as it's kitten season.
Cats Protection have closed their adoption centres-most still have cats and staff in. Unfortunately the one I volunteer in has had to shut completely as some staff members were having to self isolate and others have health conditions making them high risk (they would be using public transport too). Thankfully fosters are available as people can't travel and other centres took some cats. Branches work differently so they may be more functional.

All 4 Grumpy, that's brilliant. Mine are all street rescues. I don't live in the UK, but I think Battersea do a terrific job.

That's what I was thinking could happen Vino. I really hope that all the great fosterers will be able to help.

My CPL cats would like to make it known that "My Favourite Breed is Rescue" is spot on .

I was wondering how they're getting on with food . I managed to get some for our two but the shelves were really stripped.
I have a bag of raw in the freezer (they don't like it) but I might need to slip some into their wet food , like bulking out the spaghetti sauce with some lentils and hoping your DC don't notice Wink

The cat food cupboard is generally well stocked but occasionally there is a shortage of a particular food if there's suddenly lots of kittens in care or a very fussy cat. Cat litter is usually welcome!
You could always call local rescues to see if they need anything or see if they have an Amazon wishlist.

Want2beme · 20/03/2020 08:31

Good idea Vino. I do donate to a couple of rescues, and will continue to do so, and I'll check to see if they have a wishlist.

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats - where did the Love of the Litter Tray (TC) come from?

Don't know - Feltham Young Offenders Institution maybe?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/03/2020 09:33

Poor TC, a lonely little orphan kitty cat looking for food, warmth and lurve.

Cat litter is usually welcome! You would need to check what sort they use. For example CHAT only use wood pellets. We wouldn't be able to cope with the clay type.
