Why has my 8 month old became a dick?

Dcat has been an absolute darling. But the past week she’s been horrible! Biting, swiping. Generally horrible! Attacking dd3 when she’s just sat watching tv.

Last night was the last straw.

We had a babysitter and while we was sat talking before we left my dd12 was sat next to me on the sofa. Dcat jumped up and scratched her face millimetres from her eye. Iv never been so embarrassed.

She’s just being generally horrible and it’s got to the point of thinking “wtf have we done”.

Teenage years are always challenging.

Will she go back to her loving self? 😩

Eventually.

Compared to human teen years it’s a doddle. She’s not told you to go fuck yourself like humans do.

Next doors 10yo already does a fine stomp up the stairs with a door slam, I’m not looking forward to the teenage years. She’s the only member of that family we hear.

Has she been neutered yet?

In general though, I think often solo kittens are a lot more hard work because they don't have a sibling to wear them out and teach boundaries. So you need to play with her even more - really energetic play with fish rod type toys, laser pointers, balls to chase, kicker toys etc.
