Cat mess on fake turf

We adopted a 6 month old kitten recently, he was fully litter trained when we got him. Had him locked inside the house for the first 3/4 weeks until the injections were done and he was used to the house. Never had a problem- he always used the litter tray. Now he goes outside- the cat flap goes into the garden with fake grass. The cat will now only poo on the turf- we've tried moving the litter tray to another area of the garden to encourage him to go there but no good. I don't want to allow my children to use the garden if it's full of cat poo so does anyone have any suggestions of how to stop it?
Thank you.

Get rid of the fake turf - not fair on your cat or your kids.

There's someone on here, whose cleaner will clean your fake grass at the very reasonable rate of £20 ph...I'd do you a link if I knew how.

Your cat has the right idea about the fact your garden is covered in plastic.

Herpesfreesince03 · 13/03/2020 22:57

Did you get the cat with the expectations that he’d shit in other people’s garden instead of your own?

Where should kitten poo??

AutumnRose1 · 14/03/2020 10:30

Silver, OP wants kitty to go back to the tray.

I can't offer any advice OP but ignore the holier than thous moaning about the fake grass! When Harry has done it we've scooped it up and hosed down. I have it in my garden as it wasn't worth getting a lawnmower out as it's so small.

Oh and to the PP who said it's not fair on the cat, mine loves our artificial grass as it gets lovely and warm when the sun is on it!
