Bloody cat! Decided a paper bag was a toy, got possessive when I went to take it, fool that I am I decided to play with him. Bugger clamped his teeth down on my finger through the bag. Drew blood, finger is throbbing now. Sad

Now he's sulking, like I've upset him.

Well you probably shrieked very loudly which hurt his little ears.

Have you got any tea tree oil in the house? It takes the sting out of injuries. You’ll have to see the drs if it goes septic, mouths are filthy. Even human bites are treated like dog bites in casualty.

wonderstuff · 14/02/2020 21:53

God I hadn't thought of that. I rinsed it in cold water and strapped it up, got two deep punctures. Going on holiday tomorrow too. Bloody cats.

Get some antiseptic cream asap - cate bite fever is actually quite dangerous

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/02/2020 21:59

There is no denying your cats flair & timing.

Are you going abroad?.

AwkwardPaws27 · 14/02/2020 22:01

If you have a deep puncture, I'd try and get a course of antibiotics before you leave for your holiday - cat bites can be seriously nasty (I used to work at a vets; any incidents involving cat bites = straight to the local minor injuries unit)

wonderstuff · 14/02/2020 22:06

I'm leaving tomorrow at 9! We're driving to Holland, I'm sure I can get treatment easily there if needs be. It drew blood, so quite deep, oh I'm worried now..

Try and get antibiotics before you go.
Ring 111 and see what they say

Ohyesiam · 14/02/2020 22:19

Drawing blood is good, it’s the only way to flush out a puncture wound.

Bad kitty.

wonderstuff · 14/02/2020 22:25

Yeah 111 recommends a trip to a&e. Just working out how to get there, I've had a beer.

Ouch !
And YY best to have it checked , deep puncture and animal mouth germs .

Though when our cats bite me (usually the female, she is a villain) DD asks Oh is the cat ok? Is she poisoned ? Will she need to go on am IV drip ? ............ while I quietly wither Hmm

TheFluffiestCat · 14/02/2020 22:31

Antiseptic and keep an eye on it. I had a very bitey cat for 15 years and never got more then scabs and scars. It could go bad ways, but you'll probably be fine.

BlueEyedBengal · 14/02/2020 22:40

My bengal never just plays sometimes he grabs and bites his claws are the worst, he goes into bunny kick mode! Any sign of infection or if you feel off then go to a&e as cats mouths are filthy and a bite even tiny ones, if they break the skin can be serious. He probably didn't mean it just focused on the movement and didn't see you.

wonderstuff · 14/02/2020 23:14

Yeah totally my fault. Now in a&e, which is obviously rammed. Out of hours docs close at 11pm.. so annoying, I've had cats all my life and never been bitten before.

OP posts:
BlueEyedBengal · 14/02/2020 23:36

Hope you don't have too long a wait, but better safe than sorry.

wonderstuff · 15/02/2020 00:27

A&e is pretty boring.

OP posts:
gingerfreckles · 15/02/2020 00:34

Hope it doesn't take long for you to be seen and the bite is not to nasty. I'm worrying a little now as my cat scratched DS and drew blood this evening I'll have to keep an eye on it.

dustibooks · 15/02/2020 00:57

Glad you took the advice to get antibiotics seriously. I had a bite like that a few years ago and ended up being admitted to hospital with a horrible infection because I didn't get given antibiotics soon enough. Cats have the most virulent germs in their mouths.

Hope they get you sorted and you can enjoy your holiday Flowers

wonderstuff · 15/02/2020 01:12

Currently a 6 hour wait in a&e.. ffs.

OP posts:
wonderstuff · 15/02/2020 01:16

111 advice is to get antibiotics within 4 hours, but it's not possible it seems.

OP posts:
wonderstuff · 15/02/2020 04:40

They're now saying 6-8 hour wait. One of the wounds is feeling like it could be infected. Mental that a&e is so busy.

OP posts:
Toomanygerbils · 15/02/2020 04:44

This is your punishment for even daring to take his bag away, was his bag. Plus you wanted to leave him for a holiday! The cat has been planning this for some time 😂

wonderstuff · 15/02/2020 05:25

Grin I certainly won't do it again! 6.5 hours in a&e and counting.

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 15/02/2020 06:42

Oh lord. It’s a puncture wound so it’s almost like injecting bacteria into your finger.

wonderstuff · 15/02/2020 07:08

7 hours in a&e and I've got a 5 day course of antibiotics. Must be an easier way!
