For those of you with outside cats, are you keeping them in tonight? I've decided to but they are already crying, fighting & generally being jerks.

I'm not sure whether to let them out & hope they're sensible enough to come in. I'm worried about them falling or something falling on them.

Mine are refusing to go out anyway. Glad I still have a litter tray now

Toddlerteaplease · 08/02/2020 21:54

Glad mine are indoor cats. They don't mind rain, but really don't like wind.

woooooo · 08/02/2020 21:58

Mine are indoor cats but if they were outdoor cats I'd be keeping them in tonight. It's not safe for them. They may be going beserk but they're safe and it's only 1 night.

wonderstuff · 08/02/2020 21:58

Mine brought in a live mouse last night and took it, still alive into our bedroom, so I'm torn. My heart says let them in, my head says best to lock them out, they'll be fine. Normally would keep garage door open, but fear for the hinges in 50mph winds.

Might lock them in instead?

StrawberryFizz26 · 08/02/2020 22:00

Yeah, I'm keeping mine in. They will probably keep me up but I can handle it.

woooooo absolutely!!

Heres hoping it all goes as smoothly as possible! My 2's impressions of Usain Bolt at 4am never fails to wake me up! 😻😻

ilovesooty · 09/02/2020 02:36

Mine don't go out at night. I won't be letting them out tomorrow if it's still as windy in the morning.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/02/2020 07:47

I wouldn’t have let mine out in a storm. Too disorienteering (sp) & he might have lost his bearings.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 09/02/2020 07:56

Mine stayed in last night then I gave in to the crying this morning and one went out had a wee under the trampoline and came straight back in! The other one which I thought would go I hasn't so I'll try and keep them occupied today.

TwoHeadedYellowBelliedHoleDig · 09/02/2020 08:26

Mine were up all bloody night waking me up to make sure I knew the weather was awful and what was I going to do about it. I have just got up to find them collapsed on the sofa and yes, I woke them up Grin Now I'm back in bed with a cuppa while they trawl round all the upstairs windows begging to be let out because obviously there's an entirely different weather system outside each window. Twats.

drspouse · 09/02/2020 08:34

I didn't think to and she went out, came in drenched and then did a poo on the carpet Envy.
YOU HAVE A LITTER TRAY MADAM.

idontlike789 · 09/02/2020 08:43

My cat wanted to go out at 11.30 pm last night just as I wanted to go to bed . So I waited 5 minutes and shouted her in. My cat only goes out when necessary in winter so definitely not going anywhere today till she's desperate for a wee. Won't use litter tray so got rid years ago .

slipperywhensparticus · 09/02/2020 08:47

My three are indoor cats but between them and my youngest son I have had no sleep because they all need to tell me there is a storm outside 😴😴😴

Butternutsqoosh · 09/02/2020 08:53

I've just moved and haven't seen DCat for over 24 hours now, after seeing him every day for 3 days after the move. Haven't got a cat flap either...hope he comes out of this weather soon!

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 09/02/2020 08:59

Cat One is cross and shouting at the cat flap. She normally goes out in heavy rain but I think the wind is putting her off. Cat Two is a proper princess won't ever go outside if her ickle paws get moist Hmm.

drspouse · 09/02/2020 09:01

Mine goes out, gets wet and complains we haven't turned off the water yet.

Oldraver · 09/02/2020 09:02

Ernie stays in at night but usually gets us up around 4am to go out

He didn't really want to when he felt the wind but was helped out

madcatladyforever · 09/02/2020 09:05

Cat aged 18 freaks out if she gets a puff of wind up her bum so she won't be going out anytime soon.
She's a sensible girl, we moved house yesterday but she never needs to be kept in. I'll walk her round the area once so she knows where everything is and she's good to go on her own.

Vinorosso74 · 09/02/2020 09:29

Ours has been out three times this morning. The first two were very brief. The third time he stayed out a bit longer until some stronger gusts blew then in he came. He's now half snoozing.

HuggedTheRedwoods · 09/02/2020 09:58

We have a long term stray that lives in mine and next doors gardens (he has kennels in both) but I brought him in last night, spare bedroom with food and litter tray. He headed for the front door this morning, stuck his head out and ran back up to his room! My little cat isn't very happy about him being indoors and wont go up stairs today but I'm overuling for once and will keep him safe inside until it the worst of it passes. We're on the coast and its wild at the moment.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/02/2020 10:13

I’d have done the same @HuggedTheRedwoods. I wouldn’t want to be out in it either.

Toddlerteaplease · 09/02/2020 10:16

My parents cat has sent me a message asking why my Archbishop friends cats have not had a word with the great cat in the sky and stopped the weather! HmmHmm

YesItsMeIDontCare · 09/02/2020 10:22

Leroy (indoor cat) normally has two walks a day and is LIVID that this is clearly not going to happen.

Local stray is currently washing his butt on neighbour's windowsill so he's safe and cosy.

HuggedTheRedwoods · 09/02/2020 12:07

Me neither Fluffy - even the hardened dog walkers dont seem to be out round our way today.

TheLongRider · 09/02/2020 12:20

Sleeping out the storm here. They've been in and out pretty quickly here. A very soggy Girlcat shot in the door this morning.
