I am picking up a kitten this week.

In the past we have used the wood chipping cat litter. But I found it doesn't smell very nice.

Can someone recommend one that smells slightly better and doesn't go all over the floor.

We use wood litter and top loading covered trays so they wipe paws when jumping out.

Catsan is horrible. It stinks and I was going through a bag every 5 days. We're using Cats Best and its brilliant

I use intersand classic.

I don’t like the smell of wood pellet, it made my kitchen smell like a hamster cage.

I am currently using one from Zooplus but thinking of swapping to Everclean for easiness of ordering post Brexit.

I don’t think you are meant to use the sand type litters for kittens and I definitely wouldn’t recommend Maizy .... my kitten ate it.

I stuck to Sanicat clumping recently for my tiny kitten.

I don’t remember having any issues with pettex when I had three cats - can’t believe I have become so fussy!

Must add that the advice on not using sand type litters was from Pets Corner ... no idea whether they are right .... but, they advised me not to buy Maizy and I did and my kitten couldn’t eat it quick enough - so perhaps they are right.

Breeder Celect - recycled paper litter. Great for odour control.

My cat uses World‘s Best. it is quite expensive but the best - great clumping and no smell.

scaryteacher · 28/01/2020 09:09

Pettex seems very good. We've used it since moving back to the UK, and both elderly boys have no issues with it.

FoxRedBitch · 28/01/2020 09:11

Thank you. I have bought Catsan but if I don't like it I will try Worlds Best.

I second this.

I’ve never had a problem with Catsan, go to it by default
