The World's Worst Cats

I've been away working in London for about 10 days and my darling mother has been helping out my g/f (we have 5 kids, 3 dogs and 2 cats between us). Anyway my two have been on a raw food diet as long as we have had them. Since I arrived home three days ago, they have refused to eat. Turns out my DM had "treated them" to Sheba - not as a genuine treat, but for every meal. This morning I relented, went out and stocked up on Sheba. They wouldn't touch it. I have now discovered that just Sheba isn't good enough the requirement is Sheba fucking Fresh Choice. That's the one in the tiny pouches for dainty cats. My cats are not dainty cats.

I fucking hate them. I'm not even kidding.

So if anybody wants:
One large male marmalade mackerel tabby, green eyes, age 20
One female British shorthair, black with blue eyes, age 11

Both neutered, both in perfect health but with massive entitlement issues, let me know before one of them gives me the "cute look" and I change my mind they are snapped up.
Bastards.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaa

TwoHeadedYellowBelliedHoleDig · 24/01/2020 18:16

I presume if you actually had to feed them you'd need a second mortgage and a larger bin?

justcly · 24/01/2020 18:19

Or a labrador/greyhound cross with low standards.

Surely a 20 year old cat, should get what ever she wants. No matter how expensive/ Inconvenient!

justcly · 24/01/2020 23:28

Please, don't encourage him.

Mine will only eat his food now with "seasoning"
That's cold pressed salmon oil if you're wondering Hmm
Place food down and he looks at it, looks at me and then blinks until you squirt salmon oil on, then he tucks in happily while I do WTAF face

Toddlerteaplease · 25/01/2020 08:27

If anyone wants Cheddar she is available. For walking me up several times from
A really deep sleep. She is completely unable to keep still.

SunshineAvenue · 25/01/2020 08:57

ClientListQueen funny! How on earth did that come about in the first place?

Chemenger · 25/01/2020 10:10

I’ll have them. Swap for a foster cat that only eats whiscas crunchies but meows constantly for “something else” that isn’t any of the things I’ve tried.

crimsonlake · 25/01/2020 10:36

My 3 were always happy with dried and tinned Whiskas, that was until 2 of them started going over to an elderly neighbours after breakfast at mine for a second breakfast and dinner.
Turns out she was treating them to all kinds of delights and purchasing food especially for them. Years later and having since moved they still have superior tastes...that damn woman!

followingonfromthat · 25/01/2020 10:59

Oh yeah, thanks cattery. Thanks a bunch for giving my dcat prawns to tempt her appetite when she wouldn't eat the perfectly good cat food on offer.

Stick it out OP.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/01/2020 11:11

How many bags of prawns did that cost you @followingonfromthat?.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/01/2020 11:12

The cattery give prawns?!! I thought my girls cattery was posh. But even they don't go that far. Doubt my pair would eat them though.

ClientListQueen · 25/01/2020 11:16

@SunshineAvenue I bought him some as a supplement for his fur. And created a monster Grin

justcly · 25/01/2020 11:58

I wouldn't mind, but the black one is a proper tramp who eats insects. I once had to wrestle her to get a piece of Lego out of her mouth. But suddenly we're all posh and will only eat massive rip-off very expensive (because it is sold in tiny pouches) cat mush.

OP posts:
followingonfromthat · 25/01/2020 12:05

No extra prawns were purchased @Fluffycloudland77

I may only be staff, but I'm not daft Grin

ClientListQueen · 25/01/2020 12:11

I've never tried mine with prawns...

Chemenger · 25/01/2020 17:33

Looks like my foster is about to get a forever home, so I feel a tiny bit guilty about introducing her to tuna this afternoon. She had just spent two hours in a cage at a rehoming event, so needed a pick-me-up.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/01/2020 18:13

I’m sure tuna will be provided at her new home. Ours didn’t like it but loved skinless and boneless pink salmon. The number of times we’ve come out with smart price tuna for me and salmon for him.

SagelyNodding · 25/01/2020 18:31

Bastards! I feel your pain... That said, my current cat is so easy to please-just spend a happy 10 minutes licking a teatowel Hmm

Toddlerteaplease · 25/01/2020 18:39

The only time Maia got tuna, it made a swift reappearance!

Gingerkittykat · 27/01/2020 04:27

Starving the little buggers works. I had to do it with my boy after he had a weekend full of treats and refused to touch normal food. It took three days and was horrible to do but he eventually gave in.
