We've known for a long time that it was the right thing to do. She was over 20, getting very thin, not eating and generally not happy.
We had three cats in total, one a big ginger boy and the other a girl. She and the old cat got on really well. She's prowling around very unhappy and I'm not sure what I should do. Just a bit more info, they are mostly farm cats but definitely not feral. Any ideas how I might handle the fact that the other cat will miss her very much and how I can make it easier for her.

I’m sorry. Flowers

Lots of fuss and attention for your other cat. She just needs to grieve and adjust which really takes times.

So sorry op. Sounds like you made the right decision though. Thanks

Oh very sad, but 20 is an amazing age .

When I had guinea-pigs I always left the body overnight with the cagemate , they had to have time to grieve them and know that they were gone and I hadn't just moved them.

Can you leave her with them a few hours so they can sniff about ?

I’m so sorry you had to do that, it’s an awful process. We’ve let cats see the deceased cats body too.

So sorry. It's horrible what ever she they are. Is it possible for the other cats to see the body. I think that helped my remaining cat. I knew that she understood.
