Looks fine to me. When we had our cat done I was so worried about her! She was groggy for ages...more than a day. IT's not nice seeing them cut up but it does look fine.

Have a google of the signs of infection, some of them you'll only be able to tell irl. Is there a check up soon?

phenomenalcat · 14/01/2020 21:24

Is it hot to the touch? Is it raised? Is she trying to lick at it? Does she seem disorientated or very lethargic? Is she off her food or not toileting? These things may suggest an infection but any worries just pop her back to the vets. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Looks pretty similar to my ribs a couple of weeks ago when I had a (failed) minor operation - that's healed perfectly now.

I just have to go through it all again under a general, as they couldn't do what needed to be done under local in the end!

Her check up is Friday.

She seems happy. She has napped a lot but she didn’t sleep much yesterday. She’s eating well. It is raised but it was yesterday too x

It looks fine but huge! Our spay scars are normally only around a centimetre (unless the cat was pregnant at the time).

Heyjude20 · 16/01/2020 15:03

I thought that. It’s less swollen today. She definitely wasn’t pregnant 😂

Hi, when Girlcat was spayed, the area round her wound became very swollen, so we went back to the vet, where I was told that because there's now a space, fluid may sometimes fill up that space. They took some off with a needle and it was just fluid, no pus or blood, and a couple of days later it had gone completely. If you're at all worried, take her in for reassurance - I didn't get charged anything extra.
