Bravecto versus Advocate

Got Bravecto flea treatment & Profender wormer to use on DCat.

Have previously used Advocate for flea treatment and a tablet for worming.

I know Bravecto is 3 mthly, any other pros/cons please?

And, when you use a spot on type of flea treatment, how long do you all not cuddle your pet for? The leaflets suggest the pet shouldn't be cuddled/allowed on beds until the application site is no longer noticeable (could be a few days) - my cat would be most put out if not given any fuss for a few days!

I remember someone telling me their cat used to have an injection for flea treatment; has anyone done this please?

I prefer Bravecto as it only has to be done every three months. We've now switched to Bravecto Plus as it also contains a wormer so we only have to worm him every 6-12 months as he's low risk.

Regarding cuddles, bed etc we don't do anything any different - I didn't even know you were supposed to!

Thanks for your reply, how was it decided your cat is low risk for worms? Is he an indoor cat?

Our garden is cat proofed so he doesn't come into contact with any other animals or birds. He's never caught and eaten anything either. We discussed it with the vet and they said he was a low risk so we decided not to upset him anymore than necessary!

Sounds a good plan. I have one outdoor cat and one indoor, so not sure if the indoor would be considered low risk, as she never hunts. The outdoor cat only wants to go out for a quick 10 minutes a few times a day, so she's not out that much either, especially in the winter time. 😆
