Is it normal for them to have dropped weight?! She looks awfully skinny!! And they’ve shaved her side which I wasn’t expecting!!

I feel awful.

I don’t know what to do! She just tried jumping the stairs so Iv blocked them off.

She’s just ate like she’s never been fed.

She's only been in a few hours!

Yes the shaved patch is normal, yes cats look really skinny when they've had a bit shaved and a bit flattened.
Even Leroy looks skinny when he's wet through, and he's a right fatty.

Glad she's home safe and sound though 😊. Here's hoping she calms down a bit - get a laser pen if not!

Heyjude20 · 13/01/2020 16:19

Thank you! She won’t stop trying to jump on everything/everyone. I’m having fits lol

She’s just ran up the bloody stairs wel fast!

Give a couple of hours to settle. A trip to the vets is traumatic enough but throw in surgery she'll be out of sorts - plus getting the anesthetic out of her system.

Mine would never really settle until the middle of the night.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 13/01/2020 16:22

Keep an eye on her stitches.

Heyjude20 · 13/01/2020 16:23

Will do. I feel sick with nerves. I know it’s the best thing ever to do but I feel so guilty

Oh she's gonna milk this for all she's worth....

Heyjude20 · 13/01/2020 16:26

I don’t blame her 😂😂

She'll be fineFlowers. Are you able to block off the stairs?

InOtterNews · 13/01/2020 16:27

At least she's not wearing the highly entertaining cone of shame

Heyjude20 · 13/01/2020 16:33

Thank you!

No but she’s licking around the area so might have to go and get one!

The stairs are into the living room :(

Well she hasn’t eaten for 24 hours. Can you put her in a room with no stairs and a chair/small stepladder up to the window?.

If you’ve got a small baby grow that might work.

Is she on pain meds?.

Heyjude20 · 13/01/2020 17:03

She has pain meds for the next 5 days xx

I’m going to find a baby vest. She seems ok, like she’s purring away on me then gets up and runs off lol

Marvellous.

Madcats · 13/01/2020 19:33

Girl Madcat calmed down at about midnight on her first night home. She definitely thought she was invincible.

When we took her posh t shirt off on day 8 we realised that it had been restricting her movement (so she could only run a few miles/hour, not her usual lightening speed).

Try to keep her away from licking her stitches. It will be a nasty vet bill if she rips the wound.

Heyjude20 · 13/01/2020 20:23

She’s finally asleep!

She’s been so loving! She doesn’t seem to lick the stitches, more the fur around where she was shaved. But she smells of antibacterial stuff so I’m guessing she’s licking that?

Are those cat pyjamas you're wearing? Grin where are they from? I love them!

Heyjude20 · 14/01/2020 17:33

They are indeed 😂 from Sainsburys! Xx
