Cat eating tiny amounts 5-6 times a day

I have a neutered female cat who has ready access to outdoors. She seems to be very healthy.
She has developed a habit of wanting to be fed up to 6 times a day but only eating a few teaspoons of food at a time. I've tried putting more in her bowl but she seems to be "overwhelmed" by the amount of food and then won't eat anything. I know this is hardly the biggest problem ever known to cat-owners but it's getting annoying.
Any tips gratefully received.

Mine did this. Only ate tiny bits. I now just leave it down all the time. He is now finally eating wet food. So I just put the whole things down in the morning and he eats it at his leisure. He really is a bitty eater. My vet said this was fine.

From what I can understand, that's pretty normal for many cats - I know mine prefer to graze & eat little bits at a time off & on throughout the day & night, thought they normally finish most of it up eventually. If you think about it, they mainly catch the odd mouse or baby bird which isn't much food at one go, so they are conditioned to eat comparatively little & often.

I feed wet twice a day & leave it down until the next feed, and the dry is always there for them to help themselves.

Ok, I'll try leaving food down during the day. In my experience she will still plead for "fresh" food, but worth trying.

My cat does this, as soon as I am in the kitchen you can get she is not far behind! I leave dry biscuits about all the time and give her little portions of wet food when she wants it.

Yes, my cat is a grazer. Dry food available all the time, wet food is given morning and evening and left until the bowl is empty/its time to remove it. I think its normal.

Mine are grazers too. They have a bowl of dry food out all the time. I give them a small bit of wet food when I get up in the morning, then top it up before I leave for work. A small bit of wet food at the end of the day, then a little more a couple of hours later. It's annoying because they seem to prefer it fresh and won't eat it if it's been out of the pack for too long.
