A cats christmas carol......

A Christmas ode to my my furry buggers Laydee and Marmite.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Was the sound of a cat crunching down on a mouse.

The turkeys defrosting, they know where it is
Cos I keep finding Laydee sat right by the fridge

Marmites been a-heaving, thrown up in the hall
My gift from her this year? A steaming hairball

They've sat on the wrapping, run off with the bows
Got tangled in sticky tape which bought forth much woes

They're full up on tuna and pilchards in sauce
They're still feigning hunger and show no remorse

They've ignored pricey cat beds and asleep on my yarn
You'd think they'd been born and brought up in a barn

I've run out of things now to add to this Rhyme
So to all, MERRY CHRISTMAS! Have a fantastic time!!!

Love it OP. Grin

One of my cats is mentioned in 'Of the Father's heart begotten' it always raises a smile at Carol services.

That's fabulous! Love the rhyme, my cat appreciates it...

Toddlerteaplease · 24/12/2019 20:24

That is absolutely brilliant!

Toddlerteaplease · 24/12/2019 20:25

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats which bit?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 24/12/2019 21:10

'This is he whom seer & Sybil...'
Grin.
@Toddlerteaplease - you could lay claim to a line from the carol 'Past 3 o'clock'. Cheese from the dairy brought they for Mary (I always assumed it was Cheddar)

Toddlerteaplease · 24/12/2019 21:15

Oh of course! Not heard the line about cheese in Past 3 0'clock. Will have to re listen!
