Flea collars/ fleas/ olden days

My cat has fleas. She's had them for more than a year now.

I don't want to use the drops because I've read that it's a strong pesticide that is bad for cats and humans ...

Flea collars don't work apparently - but we had a cat years ago that only wore a flea collar. The drops weren't around then were they?

Did cats have fleas so much then? I don't remember our cat from 20 years ago having them. He was out and about all the time. The one we have now stays inside.

I comb her and get the fleas out that way, but it's never ending. Are they a big deal? In the olden days all cats must have had fleas ...

Your poor cat must be so uncomfortable.

Your house must be infestedEnvy

2 cans of Indorex will sort out a 3 bed house and you just need to hot wash bedding.

Just do it,it's revolting not to.

Really hope this is a wind up.

And in the 'old days' people used to spray their cats with flea spray.

This is not a wind up. Thank you everyone for your advice.

Actually our cat loves being combed. She purrs and purrs and lets us get all the fleas out. But I will treat this more thoroughly from now on and use the better treatments people have suggested.

It’s useful to know how they all work differently.

Our cat is healthy otherwise. I’ve never seen a flea anywhere other than on her and none of the family have ever been bitten.
