. He's now on a diet, but doesn't seem to acknowledge that
He's been hanging around the neighbourhood, (rural), for 10 years, intitally coming and going infrequently. I've been determined to win his love for all that time, but because he would only appear roughly every 6 weeks, it was hard to persuade him. He was definitely not cared for. He was absolutely filthy, intact and had very sore eyes.
Anyway, during the last 2 years he has slowly given in and I have had him castrated, vet checked, teeth cleaned, regularly de-flead, antibiotics, etc. He has become much cleaner and spends his nights inside and some of the day. I don't know where he goes to during the day, but if he does have another home(s), they are not doing a very good job of caring for him. He was in a dreadful state. He hurt his front leg last year and I managed to catch him 3 times for his vet appointments to take care of it - he doesn't like being lifted. I thought his leg was broken, but it was just badly sprained. I was very worried. My next task is to have him microchipped and get him a passport, as I'm planning on moving to another country.
Sorry for long post, but wanted to explain things.
A couple of pics of him with my girls, who he is very gentle with. He's a lovely lad.
