I have a cat who is about 13 years old. She has always been a little strange. She gets very stressed if things change, if she is unhappy she over grooms to the point where her stomach bleeds, she stops eating a loses lots of weight and throws up fluid constantly. When she has one of these episodes it takes us weeks to get her back on track. (We have got very good at recognising the early signs of this now so she rarely gets in a bad way.)
She also has random seizure type things. But I have watched videos of cats having fits/seizures and read all about them and nothing is the same as what she does. She's fully conscious when she has them. She purs really loudly and can meow. They last around 30 seconds to a minute and then she is completely back to normal like nothing has happened. During these seizures she loses control of her legs, she always tries to walk to us but will fall over. Her front leg always goes up and rubs around her mouth. And her whole body seems to tense up. We've found the quickest way to get her out of them is to pick her up, cuddle her tightly and stroke her. As soon as she starts to relax it seems to pass very quickly.
Because of these issues she is an indoor cat and we try our best to limit any form of stress.
We have spoken to a few different vets about these seizure type things and they haven't been able to tell us what is happening. Due to being an indoor cat and limiting stress we don't take her for yearly vaccination trips to the vets but she has been seen a few times. When she was neutered, for cat flu and most recently for some dental work on her teeth. At these trips we have mentioned these seizure type things and they have checked her over but say she seems healthy and they don't know the cause. They have suggested getting a video of the seizure and showing them, but my priority is always to pick her up and comfort her so I haven't got a good one until today.
Anyway they reason I'm asking now is she can go months or sometimes even years without having one of these. I definitely think they were worse when her stressed episodes were worst and we pretty much have them under control these days. But in the last 12 hours she has randomly had 3 of these episodes. On the last one I purposely put her down and videoed it for a bit so I can show the vets. But I was just wondering if anyone has experience of this or an idea of what it might be?
I have included some photos of screenshots from the videos.
Thanks
