Ear mites

Hello, looking for some advice for possible ear mites. We got our rescue cat last year, and she has always had black gunk in her ears but has been to the vet a few times (for vaccinations and different medical problems) who has said they are fine. Recently she has started to scratch her ears a lot more (though she's not breaking the skin and there's no sign of infection), and one of my friends suggested she may have ear mites. The thing is I don't want to take her to the vet for diagnosis and treatment given how much we have already spent on vet bills this year. Is it ok just to use an online treatment? If so, do you recommend anything?

I haven't defleaed her for a few months but some sites suggest this can help. I've just done the spot on. Do you think it is worth waiting a few days before trying ear mite treatment in case this sorts it out?

One of my cats got ear mites which we hadnt noticed so it was bad. His whole ear was black. These worked an absolute treat and we have had no problems since

Sorry posted too soon

If you suspect ear mites id get the drops as soon as, having itchy ears must not be a nice feeling
