Heart disease and over eating

Our 14 year old moggy has recently been diagnosed with heart disease. We give him a dioretic to help with removing the fluid which seems to make him more comfortable.

One thing that's changed seems to be his appetite. He never seems to be full! It's great that hes eating but I'm worried this is a symptom of something worse but cant find anything linking the two.

He was overweight when we got him 4 years ago and have worked hard to get him down to a decent weight but we are definitely giving into him more food to keep him happy but I'm worried he will put on weight which could make his heart problem worse.

Has anyone elses cats had a similar issue? Am I over worrying or should I just give an old man what he wants - eating and cuddles is his only pleasure.

I had a cat with severe heart disease. I didn't notice any over eating. But it could well be that, now the drugs have kicked in, he's feeling better.

To be honest. At 14 and with heart disease, I'd let him have what he wants.
