Larry For Prime Minister.

Anyone following on FB? Larry is recruiting his cabinet. Cheddar is standing for minister of Food, as she feels her name gives her the requisite experience required. And also as speaker, as she has a lot to say for herself.
Magic is standing for housing minister. She believes every cat should have a teepee to call their own.
Mithril, my parents cat is standing for Home Secretary.

Boycat wants to be the junior minister with responsibility for Mental Health. Bearing in mind her colouring (smoke black charcoal tabby) Girlcat wants Diversity as her portfolio.

What's the FB page name?

I think Harry would make a good Health minister as he's had a lot of experience!

I've just seen that Evie (Cabinet Office cat) has been promoted to the Equalities Unit www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6895007/Evie-female-Cabinet-Office-feline-given-promotion.html

Evie and Ossie were Celia Hammond cats that I did the home check for (! I was worried that they would scratch the priceless tapestries ....). But what has happened to Ossie? I can find no mention of him anywhere.Has Larry had him rehomed? I'm concerned.

I didn't know that there was a cabinet office cat as well. Surely she should be called Maggie to fit in with. Gladstone and Palmerston.

I've found it!

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 11/12/2019 10:24

Ashycat wants to put herself forward as Secrefurry of State for Defence. The way that she defends the back door from all comers shows she's qualified for the job.

I've met Gladstone and he's very sweet. Just gets on with the job of keeping the mice away (they were rampant last year when there was some building work going on) and maintaining morale in the office.

Civil Service cats are named after a notable person from the Department they live in. Evie was named after Dame Evelyn Sharp, the first female Permanent Secretary of the Cabinet Office (the Perm Sec is the highest ranking civil servant in a Department), so that's pretty big bikkies.

A female cat at Dept of Education would be called Maggie as Margaret Thatcher was an Education minister (and a cat called "The Milk Snatcher" would probably be appropriate!)

I don't know what happened to Ossie, though.

TC would make a great Minister of State for Housing - his first Ministerial decision would be to make Grumpy's house his!

@TheSecondMrsAshwell Thankyou for explaining the reasoning behind the name. I'm glad Evie fits in with the rest of her illustrious colleagues.

My pleasure, Toddler.

I'm sure DEFRA would appreciate Cheddar's expertise on the food front. She is the colour of a particularly fine artisan cheese.
