Cat peeing

Help! I homed a rescue cat about 2 months ago. Most of the time he pees in the litter tray. He is a house cat so doesn't go out at all. There is a stray cat who comes and watches him through the patio windows. Today he peed right there behind the curtains. There have been a couple of other random peeing incidents.
Any advice welcome!

Poor things territory marking, can you get hold of an enzyme based pet cleaner?.

If you collect some if the wee and it’s fresh the vet can dip it to check for infection in case he’s sore.

Where is the litter tray? Can you have more than one?
Have you tried a different type of litter?

Always use an enzyme cleaner to ensure you get all the scent off or he'll be drawn to the same spots.

You could try a supplement that helps with stress, for example Feliway Cystease is specifically for stress related urinary issue.

A vet check would also be a good idea, to rule out infections etc., especially as UTIs can quickly become a medical emergency in male cats so the earlier you catch them the better.

Where do i get an enzyme cleaner from?
Honestly, I am considering sending him back. I am a new cat owner and he also cries loads day and night for no particular reason.

Where will you send him back to?

Cats only pee where they shouldn't for two reasons - stress, or ill health. Get a feliway plugin and make a vets appointment.

If he’s crying he could well be in pain.

Stop being so selfish & get that cat some treatment.

It’s an animal in its own right not a moving stuffed toy for your entertainment.

BovaryX. We live in Dubai. He was found by some bins and taken in by the animal welfare people. They have people who can foster if adoptions dont go well.

Fluffycloudland77 you are right, he isnt a toy for our entertainment. However, there has to be some allowance for when getting a cat was a mistake or just not a good fit for the family.
The way that I look at it is that we have given it a good try. He has been neutured and vaccinated and lived in a nice warm place with food where he has had a lot of love from 5 kids for 2 months.
I am very hopeful that we will sort out this issue. I will call the vet tomorrow and ask about what we can do to stop the peeing.
We do love him and will miss him if he has to go back. However I have 5 kids and a full time job and can't spend my, very limited, spare time finding and cleaning cat pee.
I am more than happy to have him in our family but we wanted a grown up cat so that we wouldnt have these issues.
I will see if I can get a fellaway plug in and see what the vet says
