Cat eating grass

My cat has been sick a few times over the past couple of weeks, always with some grass in it. Being very occasionally sick is not unusual for her, but not this regularly.

She seems fine in herself, appetite etc is all good. I am going to give the vet a call but wondered what people think. Is eating grass regularly a sign there's something up, or has she just found a new tasty plant in the neighborhood? 🤦🏻‍♀️ She's currently on house arrest to stop her eating any more and to save my carpets

Cats can't digest grass so they will be sick when they eat it-it is useful as it acts to clear out the cats stomach of anything nasty so it's a sort of self medicating by the cat.
I wouldn't stop her eating it as it's her way of trying to get rid of something worse

Has she vomited up any hair balls recently? They sometimes eat a lot of grass if there's a hair ball they're trying to get rid of.

Good idea to speak to the vet to be on the safe side, though.

My indoor cats have a little pot of growing grass they can nibble on when they want. As a pp said, it encourages them to vomit & tends to be because they have hairballs (not that mine get many of them somehow)

Surprisingly never gets hairballs, despite being a chronic overgroomer. Ah well, better safe than sorry, she's booked in a check up tomorrow so will see if there's anything bothering her

My cat often eats grass then comes indoors to vomit up a hair ball. I think the grass help the fur ball to come up.

Vet says she seems fine, gave her an anti-emetic jab, a 'bonus' anal gland squeeze Blush and I've just cooked her a load of chicken for the next few days. Which I have no doubt she will totally turn her nose up at

I’ve got one like that!
She eats grass all the time just to bring it up again. Cats just do.

Ahh, she does look just like mine 😍 Yeah Rolo does like to leave me the occasional sicky surprise but hopefully it's not going to become a regular twice-weekly thing! Will see how she gets on over the weekend
