My cats have stopped eating 😢

3 stupid kittens (7 months) been on dry food since weaning. Normally eat well morning and evening. Today they faffed around with breakfast and barely ate any tea. Left it down for a while then tipped it away.

Nothing has changed - just all three seem to have lost their appetite at exactly the same time! Any suggestions please?

What we do for our pets?!

If the wet doesn't work, then maybe buy a couple of different brands in small packs, and something better than GoCat.

I meant small packs of dry!

Bought them a couple of pouches of food so it was really squishy and stinky (tuna)

Shared one between them. 2 walked off in disgust. The other is half heartedly licking hers.

I’ve left it down - will probably phone the vets after lunch if they haven’t eaten by then.

My two have gone off their food too! Just had big delivery from zooplus and now their favourite food is left untouched and I’ve got boxes of the stuff! I’ve just put down 4 different bowls for just 2 of them! Are they having us all on? Roll back the good old days when we had a choice of a few tins of cat food brands and they ate it or went hungry.

Well to hopefully save you a visit to the vets like I had....

It was suggested that I didn’t offer them food until the next day so they were hungry and then feed them separately stroking them whilst they ate. I also cut right down on how much food I gave them.

They are now eating but I am keeping them a bit short on food - slowly building it back up to keep them interested.

I was told to worry if they go 4x24 hours of nothing at all.

Thanks @swampytiggaa that’s what my head is telling me but my heart tells me how can I let them starve! I think that is also a good idea about under feeding them so they never know if and when they’re going to get any more, keep the hunger. Totally wrapped around their little fingers.

It seems to have worked for mine x they are pretty much back to normal now. My three when they were a bit smaller 💕
