Cat corneal eye ulcer

Hi everyone, just looking for a bit of advice. My cat was diagnosed with a superficial corneal ulcer on Thursday in her right eye. She was prescribed ofloxacin drops which seem to be working, she's opening the eye again and there's no redness anymore.

About 15 mins ago I noticed her squinting her left eye and it's a bit red around the rim and watery, same symptoms as she had in the right eye. The vets aren't open until Monday so should I put the drops in her other eye in case? Or could that harm her if it's not another ulcer?

Also what on earth could have caused her to get an ulcer in both eyes? She's an indoor cat? The vet thought she could have got dust from her litter in her right eye but what's the chances of her doing that again so soon when she's never done it before now?

Thanks in advance.

I would call an ooh vets for advice. It might be that the inflammation in the ulcerated eye gave rise to an infection which has spread to the other eye. Putting inappropriate eye drops into the eye can exacerbate certain conditions, although if my memory serves me right it is ulcers that are vulnerable. I would seek veterinary advice. OOH are often happy to offer advice over the phone.

@TheoriginalLEM Thanks for replying! I phoned them, they said not to just in case. It's gone back to normal now so she might just have had something in it but I'll keep an eye on her. She's got an appointment at the vets on Monday to check the antibiotics are working so I'll mention it to them then.

Just noticed I've written corneal 'eye' ulcer in the title by accident as if folk wouldn't know where the cornea is Blush
