Has Aldi cat food changed?

The only cat food our girl will eat is Aldi Vitacat - the dry one. It's not always available so I've tried buying other brands but she won't touch anything else except sometimes Iams.

This week though she has started refusing her Vitacat - I think the pellets look a bit darker than before so suspect they've changed the recipe (grrrr!!) has anyone else noticed this? She keeps sniffing the food in her bowl and walking away confused and Sad

It's not so much a cost issue for me - just that the nearby shops don't sell Iams. Dragging myself out to the big supermarket now.

She doesn't seem unwell and isn't being fed elsewhere - she's clearly hungry.

Try Royal Canin exigent, my mum has a cat that will only eat the aroma version (they do a taste version too.) I'm sure they'd send samples for you to try.

Aldi do this every so often. Ours had the tins for years,9% protein and cereal free.

One day I opened one and it had clearly changed, cat wouldn’t eat it. I returned it for a refund.

Thanks for the tips. I went out in the rain and bought a bag of Iam s and she demolished a bowl in seconds. I'm sure the quality is better so maybe I need to go high end from now on. Good idea about getting samples - I'll hit Royal Canin up now!

Yes to the royal Canin aromatic exigent. Or any royal canin. My cats loved it. And it's great for fussy cats. My friend who rings a cattery uses is for fussy guests.

I hadn't ever heard of this Royal Canin stuff but quite excited to give it a go. The cat rules the household!
