Cat climbs too high tree

Hi.
Our cat (female, 8 months) keeps climbing trees that she can’t get back down from. Has anyone else experience of this? What did you do? Did your cat eventually cop on??

She's probably having you on. She probably can get down. She just wants you to rescue her!

We had that, but with an older cat who thought she still could. We rescued her a couple of times, and she saw sense after that. I suspect that yours will adjust to her abilities pretty soon. Just keep an eye out in the meanwhile for her.

God yes. An absolute idiot of a cat that was up the tree for 2 days before the rspca got the fire brigade to assist. He climbed straight back up there the next day although not as far, so we rented a massive ladder and pushed him out the tree. Obviously he held onto the ladder and we got him down. He was kept inside for a few weeks until he was a bit older, then on a leash staked to the ground for a few days because being outside frightened him after all that time. He doesn’t care much about climbing trees now, spends most of his time in the field

Christ that reads wrong! I mean we gradually introduced him back outside on the leash and then he had independent time whilst the leash was staked and once he was comfortable we removed the leash and kept the harness on so he thought he was still restrained and he didn’t venture off

Thanks so much everyone!! My guess is that she is gradually going to realise (she’s been doing it less) but yesterday actually scared me as she climbed so high.
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
