Does anyone know how much Vets4Pets charge for a scale and polish on a cat?

They suggested he needed one at our last appointment so I've booked him in this week, but I'd like to know in advance how much it might be so I can work it into my budget and I've not had any luck using Google.

Could be pricey if they need to sedate

WaningGibbous · 26/10/2019 20:29

Who would want to try a scale and polish on a cat that wasn't sedated? Grin

frogsbreath · 26/10/2019 20:29

If you ask any vet they will give you a quote beforehand. If the cat is older it might include sedation, oxygen treatment during sedation and perhaps blood tests beforehand. Quite usually includes costa if any extractions needed once teeth are being surveyed.

I'd say £200-£300 maybe

KeepYourCup · 26/10/2019 20:32

He will be sedated and then have gas to keep him under while they do the work. Vet had a good look at his teeth when she did his health check so not anticipating anything more than scale and polish.

Mine had a scale and polish at The Vet and it was around £100 ish.

I've no idea. But they seem more reasonably priced than a lot of vets.

Ylvamoon · 26/10/2019 21:46

Wait until they send you a voucher... I did my dog a few years ago for £ 69.- all inc.

viccat · 26/10/2019 22:17

Ask them. Each branch of V4P is separate and can have different pricing as well. Any vet practice will give you a quote in advance though if you ask.

KeepYourCup · 26/10/2019 22:52

Thanks all. I'll give them a call on Monday. I don't really want to leave it any longer to have it done, if his teeth get worse it'll be uncomfortable for him and expensive for me!

I work for a large corporate vets and we charge £210 for a scale and polish. If extractions are required, and this is often not apparent until examination, this price can easily double. Hmm
