Catflap - moved house

So we moved a couple of weeks ago. I've kept both my felines in. They are interested in outside but haven't bolted yet. We're away later next week so going to the cattery.
I've two questions, firstly, once we get them back from the cattery will I be ok to introduce them to outside say a couple of days later or would you leave it longer?
Secondly, there is no catflap where we've moved and we will be having building works next year it's a pretty standard detached house about 40 years old there is no back door which would have been my preference. Any ideas where to put it? Sorry this is a bit long.

I would keep them in a bit longer after the cattery - so that they've been in the house for at least three weeks in total.

A cat flap can go in a wall or even window.
