Collecting him at 9am!

Litter tray, scoop, litter, mat

Food bowl and food, some treats
Water bowl

Feliway plug in (when should I get this up and running? Tonight?)

Toys

Scratch posts and mat

A few beds dotted around

Cosy blanket

Vet booked for Monday.

Is it worth getting any kind of flea treatment in case he's got them on arrival (I'm nervous about this).

Carrier to collect him in

So excited!

This sounds silly, but it’s not. Please make sure the toilet lid is kept down. Kittens like to explore! I woke one night to loud mewing, she had fallen down and was freezing, shivering and soaked. She couldn’t climb out.
Having vowed I would not let these kittens into the bedroom, I fished her out and warmed her up under the duvet. Grin

Congratulations, he's gorgeous!
Have you got poop bags for the litter? Nappy sacks will do. Also, a couple of other water bowls dotted around the house as not all cats like to drink where they eat and like to "find" their water

RockinHippy · 27/10/2019 09:51

He's so handsome 😻

I second the toilet lid down, been there done that one. I'd also add, if you have lever type taps, keep doors to the bathroom etc shut. One of our old cats worked out how to turn the tap on when she was a kitten & flooded the loo by sitting in the sink with the tap on

Dozens of cats down the line, we find training works well with the water spray mentioned above & a firm no, when picked up & & blow hard on their face whilst flaring your nostrils. The firm no soon works on its own for most cats & ours don't go on kitchen worktops & tables anymoreat least not whilst we are looking

Please get a second kitten. It helps with their separation anxiety and they keep each other amused playing

thecatneuterer · 27/10/2019 10:38

I really hope your colleague will get the mother cat spayed now. There is help available for people on low incomes. Could you do some nudging perhaps?

EachandEveryone · 27/10/2019 11:36

Aw can you get his sibling or have they all found homes?

MaidenMotherCrone · 27/10/2019 11:44

He is adorable.

goldpendant · 27/10/2019 12:08

Ime 2 dkittens reduces soft furnishing damage by 50 %...
Long days ahead for a singleton when you are out op.
Sad

bengalcat · 27/10/2019 13:40

Lol like a first time parent ! Congrats - leave flea / worm stuff for the vet and as others have said consider a playmate/ partner in crime

KeepYourCup · 27/10/2019 13:44

Don't use nappy bags for the litter, that's uneccessary plastic waste. You can buy scoops for a few pounds that sift the clean litter and you can dispose of the soiled bit.

He is beautiful Grin

EachandEveryone · 27/10/2019 14:54

Two is the number I got my second one pretty quickly I felt awful leaving her. When he’s older you can use clumping litter.

goldpendant · 27/10/2019 15:59

And if you all convince me to get one of the siblings..... will he remember them or will he be territorial?

OP posts:
EachandEveryone · 27/10/2019 16:15

Not if you do it asap Smile

Winterdaysarehere · 27/10/2019 16:19

ASAP.
Sibling!!. Tomorrow!!

1vandal2 · 27/10/2019 19:03

Yes get it quick.
Also scoops don't work with the woodcjip cheapest litter

goldpendant · 27/10/2019 19:29

Non clumping and scoop working a treat for now.... not one accident, he is perfectly trained.
