Is this kitten a tortoiseshell?

Just that really. Mum is a ginger not sure on dad.

We have a calico(ginger, black and white) she's 16 now and still thinks she's young. She has always had a lovely temperament and is now my 4yr dgds devoted friend. I know they have a reputation but ours has never read the books

My tortie is the most soppy cat ever, no diva in her at all. She is an excellent hunter though and a bit of a free spirit. My tabby on the other hand hates everyone

Off topic but I had a cat with black white and ginger patches and always thought of her as a tortoiseshell, I never knew there was another name for ones with white!

Toothless - you at is gorgeous! I have a grumpy tabby boy, who lives to kill, and a scatty tuxedo girl who lives bed everyone.

Fish - thanks! She is such a sweetheart, daft as a brush . She has split colouring on her face and I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her. This is her and her sister.

Here’s mine. She is very loving but a prolific hunter. She can also open the bin and is a lot more intelligent than my dopey ginger tabby.

I have a calico ( also thought she was a tortoise but she has white patches) She was a bit feisty as a kitten, but a very 8ntelligent cat and great fun to have around. Now she is an old woman ,and I can’t get any housework done because she is constantly on my lap.

My tortie was an angel, as was her ginger brother. They were the most affectionate, sweet cats I've ever known.

I’ve got a calico/torbie (tortie back & 2 paws, ginger face & paw, black paw and white socks and bib: she is gorgeous). She’s easily the most chilled cat I’ve ever had and very patient with the children. She’s independent but very affectionate (on her terms) and a smart cookie. I love her to bits!

Bonus: according to Celtic folklore, 3-coloured cats bring good luck to their households...

20 years ago virtually no one in the UK used the term calico. Really tortie and white, and calico are the same colour with a different term used.
Tuxedo is another term that was just a black and white 20 years ago.

She’s settled in so well! She’s currently doing zoomies and driving us insane 😂

She’s so loving, as soon as you stroke her chin she flops in your hand and starts purring.
She loves the kids! She hasn’t really bonded with Dh though as she doesn’t go near him!

She had her first injection yesterday 😩 so she slept most evening and night. So this morning she’s even more hyper 😂
