FLEAS!!!

Our cat had fleas and they have clearly infested the house - mainly my 7yo bedroom (the cat spent most of his time in there).

I have flea-d the cat and he's had those tablets that are supposed to kill them.. I've only ever seen one flea on him but did see flea dirt. He has Stronghold? flea treatment on currently.

In DS room, I have used flea powder, flea spray, flea bombs and a plug in light with sticky paper. I took everything out of his room and also moved it around incase they were under his bed. Even with doing this, no difference.

In fact, we are all being bitten MORE! Poor DS and DD are covered in bites! The only one not being bitten is the 1yo, thank god.

Help me please Sad

Indorex is supposed to be good for the house. Have you treated all the other rooms too? Stronghold should work but can take time as the fleas need to be on the cat to die

Vacuuming every day is recommended.
Shallow bowls of Fairy water is great for drowning the little fuckers.
You will be shocked how many you can catch!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/10/2019 15:16

Indorex works a treat - just spray the house (carpets and soft furnishings).

You may have to treat twice with a really bad infestation.

subwaysaladfan · 20/10/2019 15:24

Indorex is amazing! Our cat in festered our house and it was absolute hell! I got a can and only had to treat the house once and they was gone.

I just wish it worked for bedbugs which is what we have now Sad

I have been hoovering daily and emptying but it's getting expensive with having a henry hoover and having to replace the bags after.

Yep, i have been treating the other rooms too. Haven't seen any fleas downstairs, only actually seen them in DS room.

DH gets paid next week so I'm going to be buying lots of stuff! Will definitely try indorex!

I'm literally picking up DS bed every day to get under it! Even had to take the xbox out of there and put it downstairs so he won't be in there during the day now it's half term haha.

Saw 2 fleas on our landing but they were too quick for me!

Also changed the sticky pad in DS room earlier and currently 2 fleas in it. Going to hoover the talc up tomorrow as suggested on a website.

I've made DS wear a onesie tonight (usually sleeps in pants) and I've used our lice repellent hair detangler on all visible skin because it's citronella! Poor boy stinks but i hope it stops him being bitten!!

Do behind the radiators. And inside them. That the only place I didn’t do. And my vet told me to do that. It helped. Also I moved all my furniture daily as well.

mybabyisteething · 21/10/2019 19:24

Our indorex is coming tomorrow!

I've hoovered my whole upstairs 3 times today and still flicked a couple of fleas outside.

Had the sticky thing in DS room overnight and took it out an hour ago, it had 12 fleas in it - which is good considering how it has been!!!
I've put it on the landing now and already there are 2 new fleas!

I will definitely be getting more of these light things though as I'm really impressed with them.

Which tablets is the cat on?.

mybabyisteething · 22/10/2019 18:28

Johnsons 4fleas tablets.

Missed the postman by 10 minutes this morning who had the indorex! So I'll be going to collect that tomorrow.

It’s because you’re using those tablets. They’re rubbish. See the vet and treat monthly with advocate or advantage or something like that.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/10/2019 18:54

No wonder you’ve got fleas using them.

mybabyisteething · 22/10/2019 19:36

He's always had spot on treatment monthly. He has stronghold on atm.

From the vet? So why the tablets too?

crimsonlake · 22/10/2019 23:59

I had a flea problem, used Frontline to no avail. Purchase Advantage and it worked straight away. Also bought a can of Indorex, problem solved.

mybabyisteething · 23/10/2019 08:53

Stronghold from the vets.

Flea tablets from amazon, i researched before buying them and they are safe to use alongside spot on.

They are supposed to kill any fleas on him within 15 minutes but i don't think they work so i won't be using them again.

Update:

Used indorex on Friday and replaced the sticky pads in 2 flea lights.
