Heat pad recommendations

Cheddar has taken a liking to the heat pad at the cattery and as a loyal cat slave, I will accede to her demands for one. Any recommendations?

The Snuggle Safe one is most widely used at cat rescues. I had one for my old cat and it stayed warm for a long time, I don't have a microwave anymore so can't use them now though...

We've got self heating mats which the cats come on and off of as even they get too hot.

I recommend the Pet Remedy heat pad (plug in, low voltage). I put a thin blanket on top for added comfort. My disabled cat absolutely loves it.

@gingerpurrfect, that was the one the lady in the cattery recommended. But I'm a bit u easy about an electric one.

Ones made out of wheat etc you heat can also set on fire though.

I keep the Pet Remedy mat plugged in all the time and there's never been a problem. My cat has an occasional incontinence issue, and even this has been no cause for concern as the mat is fully waterproof. Honestly, I can't recommend it enough!! I should add I've tried various other mats over the years and this one wins hands down.

I have sheepskins for my cats. Will the pet remedy ones heat through that?

Imagining Asbo as an arsonist ...

Can someone tell me more about self heating mats please?

WaningGibbous · 19/10/2019 14:35

I got mine from Amazon - search for 'self heating pet pads.' They bounce the heat of the cat back towards the cat.
