Pregnancy and kitties

Hey, I’m a huge cat lover and have had my 2 toms (who are 13yrs) since they were 14wks old (also had a queen but she died last year šŸ˜ž). After fertility treatment I finally am pregnant and it’s very early days. I pretty much do everything for my boys from giving medication to cleaning out litter trays (wearing rubber gloves) but I’ve read that I shouldn’t handle litter tray whilst pregnant due to toxoplasmosis.

Just wondered how other pregnant cat owners navigated during this time.

Surely you can still do the litter while wearing gloves

Get your DP to deal with the trays Wink. Wearing gloves whilst cleaning is fine followed by washing hands afterwards. There is a lot of scaremongering about toxoplasmosis and pregnancy around so be careful what you read. Vets and vet nurses still do their jobs whilst pregnant and must deal with a fair amount of cat poo!
